Campaign Finance Reform

Start by recognizing that only people can vote

Corporations, Labor Unions, PACs, Political Parties, & other groups and organizations are not people

We need to change the definition of person in Federal law

–only a person is a person

–Anything else is an entity

When the definition of person is clear; Campaign Finance Reform is simple

–Campaign contributions can only come from voters the successful candidate will represent.

–A person can contribute any amount to any for whom they are eligible to vote

  • All contributions must be fully reported by the candidate
  • All contributions are tax deductible

–Entities

  • Cannot contribute to any candidate
  • Cannot use any candidate’s name or likeness in any advertising between qualification day election day.

–A person who is not eligible to vote in the election cannot contribute to or use the name or likeness of any candidate in any advertising between qualification day election day.
